30 Oct Quick and Healthy Breakfast Ideas for Your Busy Morning
Dietitians around the world agree that planning out your meals in advance is essential to eating healthy. Planning out your dinners in advance can be relatively easy, but with so little time in the morning before you rush off to work, we often go for a quick breakfast that isn’t very healthy. Too often we settle for cereal or fast food breakfast sandwiches as our quick bite before work. Instead of settling for a quick but unhealthy breakfast, try one of these healthy and quick breakfast ideas below to help you reach and maintain your dietary goals:
Just as easy to make as a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich (but much healthier!), apple sandwiches are a great way to start your day off with some fruit. Just slice your favorite apple into thin rounds, spread a little almond butter on top, and sprinkle some of your favorite nuts, granola or chia seeds for a healthy and delicious day-starter!
Baked Egg “Muffins”
Instead of going through the trouble each morning of cooking eggs on the stove, combine eggs with some cooked veggies and a little bit of cheese and pour the mixture into muffin tins. Then bake these at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-30 minutes. That’s it! Make these one night and you will have breakfast for the week because you can freeze these egg muffins and warm them up in the microwave come breakfast time.
Smoothies are a healthy and delicious way to start off the day, but slicing fruits and vegetables and mixing them up all can sound like a daunting task when you’ve just woken up. One way to make the smoothie-making process a lot easier and quicker is to build your bag of fruits and vegetables the night before. Cut up your fresh fruit and vegetables the night before (or frozen fruit), put your fruit and vegetable mix into separate bags, and put them in the freezer. That way all you have to do is start the blender when you wake up for a delicious and healthy smoothie.
A very popular breakfast option today, avocado toast is delicious and healthy, and it takes no time to prepare either! In a small bowl, combine your avocado with lemon juice, salt and pepper. Gently the mixture with the back of a fork. Atter toasting your bread, spread the mashed avocado mixture on top. You can even drizzle your toast spread with some olive oil for a little extra flavor.
Mornings are busy, but we shouldn’t let that keep us from eatitng healthy!
