Apple Sandwiches
Just as easy to make as a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich (but much healthier!), apple sandwiches are a great way to start your day with some fruit. Just slice your favorite apple into thin rounds, spread almond butter on top, and sprinkle some of your favorite nuts, granola, or chia seeds for a healthy and delicious day starter!
Baked Egg “Muffins”
Instead of going through the trouble each morning of cooking eggs on the stove, combine eggs with some cooked veggies and a little cheese and pour the mixture into muffin tins. Then bake these at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-30 minutes. That’s it! Make these one night, and you will have breakfast for the week because you can freeze these egg muffins and warm them up in the microwave at breakfast time.
Pre-Planned Smoothies
Smoothies are a healthy and delicious way to start the day, but slicing fruits and vegetables and mixing them up all can sound daunting when you’ve just woken up. One way to make the smoothie-making process much easier and quicker is to build your bag of fruits and vegetables the night before. Cut up your fresh fruit and vegetables the night before (or frozen fruit), put your fruit and vegetable mix into separate bags, and put them in the freezer. That way, all you have to do is start the blender when you wake up for a delicious and healthy smoothie.
Avocado Toast
A trendy breakfast option today, avocado toast is delicious and healthy; it takes no time to prepare either! Combine your avocado with lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Then, gently mix with the back of a fork. After toasting your bread, spread the mashed avocado mixture on top. You can even drizzle your toast spread with olive oil for extra flavor.
Mornings are busy, but we shouldn’t let that keep us from eating healthy!
